New Ownership / Grand Opening

Ye Olde Art Shoppe is now under new ownership.  Bonnie Gregory is now back in the business again.  In December 2002 Bonnie and Linda Johnson opened the shop together, but three years later Bonnie's husband developed cancer and she left the business to take care of him.  Until recently Linda took care the shop herself and has now decided to retire and Bonnie is back in the business again.

The grand opening / new ownership meet and greet will be on June 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with refreshments being furnished.  We look forward to meeting new and old faces in the community.

Put People in Your Paintings #2

Summer Workshop ~ Aug 22nd

Don’t be afraid of painting people any more! We’ll show you a foolproof way to include people in your paintings.  Follow along, step by step, as we paint this girl carrying her red-striped beach chair. This is a reproduction of a classic painting by the famous Scottish artist Jack Vettriano titled “Sweet Bird of Youth”.

This very simple and delicate study was first shown in 1995. The title is taken from a song by Leonard Cohen, who is one of Vettriano’s favorite singers.
